Many of our readers will know Dr. Worrall. A retired professor of dendrology at UBC, ‘Worrall’ is known by more students than any other professor of his time. He made a point and learning (and never forgetting) the name of every new forestry student – and would call on people by last name when they were least expecting it!

On Friday, May 22, Dr. Worrall is celebrating his birthday, and he would like to spend the day seeing the faces of his past students. With the help of his friends, we are hosting a “garden drop-by party”. In light of COVID-19 and the need to keep everyone safe, this party will be unique. We’re asking you to come by his front yard, where he will accept visitors a few at a time, for a short visit (with appropriate social distancing). Please do not bring any gifts or leave behinds, again, with COVID in mind, this needs to be a ‘touch free’ event.

Drop by 5818 Highbury Street, Vancouver, BC V6N 1Z1 between the hours of
10:00 a.m. – Noon
2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

If you can’t drop by for a visit, please send an email to sandy@treefrogcreative.ca and all of your birthday greetings will be printed and shared with Worrall on his birthday.
