METRO VANCOUVER — A new proposal for Surrey City Centre would put independent and assisted living for seniors in the same complex as a medical research centre — all just steps from Surrey Memorial Hospital. The WestStone Group submitted a development permit application last week for Innovation Village, a $250-million scooter-friendly development at 9525 King George Boulevard… The plans call for two six-story wood-frame buildings for seniors’ independent living as well as a 12-storey tower housing the seniors’ research centre, medical offices and complex care and assisted living units. The developer expects that it will be located right beside one of the light rail transit stations that Surrey is planning to build. Pricing has yet to be determined.
